"The title work is a 24-minute tour de force for augmented octet inspired by and dedicated to the late violinist Geoff Nuttall... 'Starbound' is one of the loveliest, most profoundly touching tributes I've ever heard... Wonderful, engaging, and enrapturing in turn, it's a work to be played over and over."
SF CLASSICAL VOICE
"Ever Yours is a single, sustained meditation that feels both grounded in tradition and fully alive in the present."
Originally composed in 2022 for string octet, Ever Yours is Osvaldo Golijov's final work dedicated to the late violinist Geoff Nuttall. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh's letters to his brother Theo and Haydn's String Quartet Op. 76 No. 2, the album is exquisitely performed by Arethusa Quartet, Animato Quartet, Barry Shiffman, and Nicholas Schwartz, illuminating Golijov's deeply personal meditation on friendship, remembrance, and enduring love.
